2020                    Pict Offshore

Client name
Pict
Location
TBA
Service
Purpose Built Cabinet Units
Project
Pict have invented a new innovative solution to help making the maintenance of wind farms in the North Sea safer and more effective. It is expected to double the sea swell height at which crews can safely transfer, from boat to wind turbine from 1.5 metres to 3 metres. This enables accessibility to far-offshore installations to increase from 50% to 80% of the year.
Working with Pict, we have designed a bespoke enclosure which can withstand the hazardous environment for the control system and backup power.

Wind mills in a field

Our involvement:

Wind power is both cost-effective and much less intrusive to the planet than many other energy sources. With the rise of renewable energy so have the demand for new jobs in the sector. Since windmills use kinetic energy to create power, they are sustainable and have less impact on the environment versus other more traditional methods such as gas and oil.

We here at Mainframe Communications have been working with manufacturing and supplying termination, optic fibre and splice enclosures to renewable energy companies since 2003. In 2003 we had the pleasure to be part of the installation on one of UK’s first wind farm, Scroby Sands. Since then we have worked both within the UK and abroad to assist in the development and construction of new wind farms to meet the increasing demand of clean and green energy.
